AG Platkin Announces New Law Enforcement Guidelines for Sexual Assault Responses at Sexual Violence Prevention Symposium in Trenton

Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin today announced he has issued a Directive to law enforcement that expands the standard Sexual Assault Response Team activation period from five to seven days from when the incident is reported to have occurred, providing survivors of sexual assault more time to access the trauma-informed services consistent with enhancements in medical and forensic science.

AG Platkin: State Board of Medical Examiners Permanently Revokes License of North Jersey Emergency Room Doctor Whose Alleged Conduct Resulted in a Patient’s Death in 2017

Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the Division of Consumer Affairs today announced that the State Board of Medical Examiners has permanently revoked the medical license of a North Jersey emergency room doctor for alleged conduct that resulted in a patient’s death at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey, in 2017.

AG Platkin, Division on Civil Rights Announce Enforcement Actions in Ten Cases Involving Alleged Housing Discrimination

Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the Division on Civil Rights (DCR) announced today that DCR has issued Findings of Probable Cause in 10 cases alleging that landlords and real estate agents violated the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (LAD) by denying housing to individuals who stated that they wished to pay their rent using Section 8 vouchers, a form of government rental assistance.
