Kai Marshall-Otto serves as Counsel to the Attorney General, focusing on environmental justice and a wide range of consumer protection initiatives. Kai previously served as a Deputy Attorney General with the Division of Law’s State Police, Employment, and Corrections Section. As a DAG there, he handled a core caseload of employment and law enforcement matters, in addition to a substantial number of special projects in which, among other things, he successfully defended executive orders issued by Governor Murphy to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to his move to government service, Kai was a commercial litigation associate at Fox Rothschild LLP in Princeton. Kai is a proud alumnus of Rutgers University, where he graduated with honors both at the undergraduate level and from the School of Law.
