According to the preliminary investigation, a hit-and-run accident was reported shortly after 10 p.m. in Gloucester Township. Two members of the Gloucester Township Police Department subsequently located the vehicle driven by the decedent. The officers began to pursue the vehicle, but called off the pursuit. Soon afterward, at approximately 10:15 p.m., the decedent, who was traveling southeast on Sicklerville Road in Winslow Township was involved in an accident with three vehicles traveling in the opposite direction.
