Executive Director of the Office of Public Integrity & Accountability

Drew Skinner is Executive Director of the Office of Public Integrity and Accountability. Most recently, he served as Senior Counsel to the Attorney General. Previously, he was Co-Chief of the Violent & Organized Crime Unit in that office, where he supervised approximately 20 federal prosecutors responsible for murder, gang, and sex-trafficking cases.

Skinner served for almost nine years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Most recently, Skinner was Co-Chief of the Violent & Organized Crime Unit in that office, where he supervised approximately 20 federal prosecutors responsible for murder, gang, and sex-trafficking cases. Prior to that, Skinner was a member of the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force. Skinner served as SDNY’s Project Safe Neighborhoods Coordinator, Ghost Gun Specialist, and Victims’ Rights Coordinator, and served on the office’s Conviction Integrity Committee. In 2019, Skinner received the Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service, the U.S. Department of Justice’s second-highest award. He previously worked at a Manhattan law firm. Skinner clerked for the Honorable Chester J. Straub of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Honorable John G. Koeltl of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Skinner holds degrees from New York University Law School and Georgetown University.
