Today, Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin joined the Justice Department and 15 other states to file an antitrust lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey alleging Apple is monopolizing the market for smartphones, stifling innovation and the development of apps and related technology in violation of the Sherman Act and New Jersey law.

Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin co-led a coalition of 19 attorneys general filing an amicus brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit urging that court to revisit an opinion striking down a Pennsylvania law prohibiting individuals under the age of 21 from carrying concealed weapons in public and imposing additional restrictions during declared states of emergency.

The Office of the Attorney General and the Division of Consumer Affairs today announced that the Bureau of Securities has joined a multi-state settlement with two Florida- based broker-dealers that have agreed to pay at least $8.25 million in refunds to investors who were charged unreasonable commission fees on small-dollar transactions.
